Etsy seller tools!

Tag finder helps you choose the best set of tags for you Esty items. Tag finder will generate graphs showing the price and views per day of items with your query, as well as on related tags. This lets you see which tags will be likely to bring the highest number of views to your Etsy items.

Enter some tags, e.g. 'knitted scarf'

Just enter one or more tags in the box, separated by spaces (e.g. 'necklace silver'). Tagtastic searches Etsy to find items that have the tags you want, and finds other tags that are often found on the same item as your query. This may take a while, so please be patient! The result is a bunch of graphs and a table showing useful information about the items that were found.
Good question! Here are a couple of examples of how you can use the Tag Finder to get useful information. If you have a cool use for the Tag Finder, contact me and I'll add it to this page.

If you have an item and you're trying to think of tags for it, enter the main theme of your item (e.g. 'dog') in the search field. When you get the results, scroll down to the table and click on the "number of items" header to sort by that column. The tags near the top of the table will be those that are most often found with your tag (e.g. 'pet', 'animal', 'puppy'). You can see which items get the highest views by looking at the 'average views/day' column. Using tags you find here with the highest views will have an immediate effect on the number of daily views your items get.

You can also use the tag tool to get ideas for new products. Enter tags that describe the kind of item you make (e.g. if you knit scarves, enter 'knitted scarf'). In the results, look for tags that are associated with high numbers of views (e.g. 'handspun', 'buttons', 'fringe' - maybe your next item should be a scarf made from handspun wool with buttons and a fringe!). The "number of items" column gives you an idea of how reliable the numbers are - the higher the number in that column, the more accurate the estimate of the average number of views is.

You can also use the tag tool to get suggestions about pricing. Enter tags that you use a lot, then click on the "average price" column header to sort by average price, and see what tags are associated with higher/lower prices.
